Pen-Y-Bryn Honey
Gwenynfa Pen-Y-Bryn Apiary is a long-standing family-run honey business in Mid Wales, with roots stretching back to the 1930s. What began as a swarm of bees landing in a plum tree grew into a lifelong passion for founder Carys, who began beekeeping at the age of 12 and hasnβt looked back since.
Following in her uncleβs footsteps, Carys built a reputation for producing exquisite honey, sauces, jams, chutneys and marmalades, winning numerous award. As demand for her products grew, so did the need for a modern, easy-to-manage online shop that could showcase her range and reach new customers far beyond her local community.

PROBLEM
Carys had been running her original website on Wix, which had served its purpose in the early days. But like many growing businesses, the site had become outdated, hard to manage, and no longer reflected the story or the quality behind the brand.
The user experience was clunky, especially on mobile, and the shop system was difficult to maintain and update. It didnβt do justice to the years of craft behind the products and it didnβt help customers find or purchase items with ease.
SOLUTION
We rebuilt the website using Squarespace as a flexible, secure and future-proof platform. This was perfect for small product-based businesses like Gwenynfa Pen-Y-Bryn Apiary. We created a calm, welcoming design that balances tradition with a modern feel, giving Carys a solid online foundation she can be proud of.
We focused on making the commerce experience smooth and user-friendly, with easy navigation and clear product organisation. The site gives customers a true taste of what makes her products special. Behind the scenes, the new system is easy for Carys to update. Now she can focus on making brilliant honey while the site handles orders.
